There weren’t too many WOW displays or ideas at this years show. I will try to show some of the products that I thought were worthy of a spot light.
The Porsche 918 is a million dollar powerhouse with over 900hp and a 200mph top speed. This car seemed smaller in person, and a lot smaller that the Carrera Gt supercar Porsche made a few years ago.
Ken Block’s new 700hp all wheel drive Mustang that will be the star of Gymkhana 7 when it come out later this year.
This is the interior of the Ring Brothers’ Chevelle called Recoil. The car looked stock on the outside but the interior was something I had never seen before. I don’t know if the seats are comfortable but they look great.
Do you have a Lamborghini Aventador? Do you want an all Titanium exhaust for it? I didn’t ask the cost, but you know what they say if you have to ask, and I can’t.
I had to do a double take after walking by this S2000 to see anything different other than the turbo.
The F series motor has been replaced with a K series motor from a RSX. I couldn’t find any power numbers but I would be interested to see the graph compared to a standard turbo F series.
Cosworth showed off their newest power adder for the FA20 motor in the FRS/BRZ cars. Their new supercharger and manifold working with the other parts they offer can add up to 80hp to the stock 200hp. The kit costs about $7k and comes with custom tuning to make it work seamlessly together.
Honda doesn’t sell anything exciting any more so they had Spoon Sports build a Super Taikyu Fit for endurance racing. The livery is famous, and the car had all the speed parts to go along with those looks. I would like to see this race in an American spec B series.
Toyota had it’s latest concept car on display. whether this will be the next Supra or a high end Lexus, or what their partnership with BMW will do to the engine is up in the air for now.
Magnus Walker’s STR 911, I love how this guy became an overnight celebrity from one video on the internet. The car was well built with lots of details that really show a true love for the car brand.
This is the engine bay of the Yimi Sport STi I saw at the track last month ( check out that post). The motor still displaces the factory amout of 2.5L but thanks to a EFR 7163 turbo, and E85 fuel it puts out 520hp. Take notice of the intake manifold, and how it’s stacked rather than flat to allow a larger pipe through to the turbo intake. Most tuners just rotate the turbo which causes it’s own headaches.
I didn’t know the famous Japanese tuner Nakai-san of Rauh-welt did any other car than a Porsche, but here is a beatle all ready to go. I looks better but I’m still not sure I would drive it.
Now a twin turbo 1100hp Cadillac CTS-V I would drive, just make mine the wagon type. Look at all the heat reflective material in the engine bay.
That’s all for this year I hope you liked the peak into the show. I have a lot of winter upgrades planned before race season.
