Last weekend I got away from the Vegas heat and cooled off in Santa Monica, California. I am always on the look out for cool cars everywhere I go, and spotted this one at the famous Rock Store on Mulholland Dr.
It is a 1957 Chevy Nomad with a interesting power plant. The owner just stoped by to show a friend, and instantly it was surrounded by car guys drooling all over it. why you ask…
If you couldn’t see the exhaust from the first pic, it has a big block motor and BDS blower sitting in the back trunk. The car was custom built by the owner to be a cruiser, and grab attention. Job well done
The owner was unsure of the horsepower the car makes, he never had it dyno’d. I can’t see it making less than 500 but that is just a guess.
The motor breathed through a vent on the roof. The owner stated it had no over heating problems and was happy sitting in California traffic. The whole body of the car had a brushed finish to it.
The interior didn’t look to be finished yet, but it was functional with air ride suspension and a radio.
With the engine in that back the only thing up front was a NASCAR style gas tank and the radiator.
I hope to have some updates on the Integra in the next few months, I haven’t felt like sitting at the track with the heat this year so I plan to make a push during the fall.
